Música y canto se unen en la Velada de las Artes este viernes 25 de enero para enmarcar la entrega del Premio de Pintura Antonio López Sáenz, reconocimiento que este 2008 será para Margarita Félix, con su obra "Signos del silencio".
La ópera es siempre el género presente en esta noche de gala encabezada por la soprano Eugenia Garza, y los tenores David Lomelí y Jorge Lagunes, acompañados por la Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes y su director huésped, James Dempster.
Ésta será una noche de estrellas del arte, cada una en su especialidad:
Eugenia Garza es graduada del programa de la Ópera de Washington y tiene un gran poder interpretativo. David Lomelí es el primer tenor mexicano en ganar el primer lugar en la categoría de ópera y zarzuela de Operalia, el concurso mundial de ópera de Plácido Domingo; y Jorge Lagunes obtuvo el Premio Plácido Domingo 2006.
Por su parte, James Dempster ha trabajado como director y pianista al lado de cantantes operísticos como Placido Domingo, Fernando de la Mora, Renata Scotto, Gilda Cruz Romo y Rolando Villazón, entre otros.
Todos ellos harán lucir la velada en honor a una pintora y su obra. Un festín de bellas artes.

A night in honor of the fine arts

Music and song come together in the Art Soiree this Friday, January 25th in order to give ambience to the granting of the Antonio Lopez Saenz Painting Award. This year’s award goes to Margarita Felix for her piece entitled “Signos del Silencio”
Opera is always a present genre on this gala night and it will be headed up by Eugenia Garza and the tenors David Lomeli and Jorge Lagunas. They will be accompanied by the Sinaloa Symphonic Arts Orchestra and its guest director, James Dempster.
This will be a night of art all stars, each one with a specialty. Eugenia Garza graduated from the program of the Washington Opera and has a great interpretive power. David Lomeli is the first Mexican tenor to win first place in the opera/light opera category of Operalia, Placido Domingo’s world wide contest, while Jorge Lagunas won the Placido Domingo award in 2006.
James Dempster has worked as director and pianist alongside opera stars such as Placido Domingo, Fernando de la Mora, Renatta Scotto, Gilda Cruz Romo and Rolando Villazon. They all will make the night shine brighter in honor of the painter and her painting. It will be a fine arts fiesta.
